Overview and your rights
This policy explains what personal data is collected when you visit this website, why, and on what legal basis. Personal data is any information that can identify you, such as your name, email address or IP address.
Legal bases. I process data on the following bases under Art. 6(1) GDPR:
(a) Consent: for analytics, newsletter and embedded content. Consent for storing or reading information on your device is also required under § 25 TDDDG.
(b) Contract: when you contact me about a project or booking.
(f) Legitimate interest: for running a secure, functional website.
Your rights. You have the right to:
access the data I hold about you (Art. 15)
have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17)
restrict its processing (Art. 18)
receive it in a portable format (Art. 20)
object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
withdraw consent at any time, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3))

Complaints. You can complain to a data protection authority. The authority responsible for me is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin.
Hosting
This website is hosted by Squarespace. For EU visitors, the provider is Squarespace Ireland Limited, Le Pole House, Ship Street Great, Dublin 8, Ireland.
When you visit the site, Squarespace automatically collects technical data in server log files. This includes your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, and the date and time of access. This data is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is a reliable, secure website. I have a data processing agreement with Squarespace under Art. 28 GDPR. Details: Squarespace Privacy Policy.
Cookies and consent
This website uses cookies, which are small text files stored on your device.
Essential cookies are needed for the site to work, for example for security and remembering your cookie choice. They are set on the basis of § 25(2) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Analytics and third-party cookies are only set if you agree in the cookie banner. They are set on the basis of § 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings link in the website footer, or by deleting cookies in your browser.
Contact form and email
When you contact me through the form or by email, I store what you send, such as your name, email address and message, so I can reply. Form submissions are processed by Squarespace and forwarded to my email.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a project or contract. Otherwise, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on my legitimate interest in answering messages.
I delete your data once your enquiry is fully handled, unless legal retention periods apply (for example for business correspondence under German tax and commercial law).
Analytics

Squarespace Analytics. With your consent, I use Squarespace's built-in analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed, how long visits last, and where visitors come from. Squarespace uses cookies for this and processes data such as your IP address and device information.
Google Analytics. With your consent, I use Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics uses cookies to analyse how visitors use the site. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA (see section 9). IP anonymisation is active. Details: Google Privacy Policy.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw consent at any time through the cookie settings.
Newsletter
If you sign up for my newsletter, I use your email address (and your name, if you give it) to send it to you. Sign-up uses a double opt-in: you receive a confirmation email and are only added once you confirm. I log the time of sign-up and confirmation as proof of consent.
The newsletter is sent with [Squarespace Email Campaigns / name of your newsletter tool and its address]. It may record whether emails are opened and which links are clicked, so I can improve the content.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can unsubscribe at any time through the link in every newsletter. Your email address is then deleted from the list.
Embedded content
This website embeds content from third parties. When such content loads, the provider receives your IP address and may set cookies. I only load it with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG).

Transfers outside the EU, retention and changes
Transfers to the USA. Some providers named here (Squarespace, Google, Calendly, Meta) are US companies or have US parent companies, so data may be transferred to the USA. Where the provider is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the transfer is based on the EU Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). Otherwise, it is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).
How long data is kept. I keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires.
Changes. I may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The current version always applies.
